Bringing an entourage…
We know it’s the most important dress you’ll ever wear, and you want to make sure that it’s absolutely perfect. But we have found that the bride who has 10 different opinions to deal with makes it very difficult to come to a choice and it can sway you farther away from what you actually want.
Serenity brides believes that the most a bride should bring when dress shopping is two people, why is this?
Most brides do best with just their mum and maybe a sister or best friend. They generally have the brides’ best interest at heart, not what they want her to wear.
Entourages really do pick dresses they would wear and the bride feels obliged to try them on, knowing they would never wear them.
Trying on wedding dresses can be exhausting and one of our favourite brides told us “when you’re standing there in a big dress, and random people in the store are ohh-ing and ahh-ing and all you want to do is take it off, you’ll need an honest, reliable companion to say, ‘I love it, but it’s just not you'”
At Serenity Brides, we encourage the bride to pick first, try those on and if there’s nothing there that she loves, then friend can pick some.
Almost always though, we don’t get to the friend’s picks, because the bride really does know what she likes and it is her day after all!
Occasionally a friend who knows the bride well, does pick THE ONE, but ultimately, whoever picks it, the bride has to LOVE it and when she does, she will not be swayed!
